Amlopril 5/20

Composition :

Amlopril 5 / 20: Each capsule contains:

Amlodipine besylate equivalent to 5 mg Amlodipine, Benazepril HCL 20 mg.

Indications:

Amlopril is indicated for the treatment of hypertension (This fixed combination drug is not indicated for the initial therapy of hypertension).

Dosage:

– In clinical trials of Amlodipine/Benazepril combination therapy using Amlodipine doses 2.5 – 10 mg and Benazepril doses 10 – 80 mg once-daily, and will be reached after approximately 2 and 7 days of dosing.

– Use in patient with metabolic impairment: regimens of therapy with Amlopril need not take account of renal function as long as the patients creatinine clearance is > 30 ml / min / 1.73 m².

– In patients with more severe renal impairment, the recommended initial dose of Benazepril is 5 mg.

– In hepatically impaired , alcoholic, and adolescent patients the recommended initial dose of Amlodipine ,as monotherapy or as a component of combination therapy, is 2.5 mg.
