Ascazil susp

Composition :

Each 5 ml suspension contains:      Albendazole 200 mg

Indications :

Ascazil is indicated for the treatment of :

– Ascariasis – Trichuriasis – Strongyloidiasis – Enterobiasis – Taeniasis – Capillariasis – Hydatid disease.

Dosage and administration :

The usual dose for adults and children aged 2 years or over:

– In Ascariasis and Trichuriasis is 400 mg ( 10 ml ) as single dose.

– In Strongyloidiasis is 400 mg ( 10 ml ) is given daily for 3 consecutive days, this may repeated after 3 weeks if necessary.

– In Enterobiasis for children aged 2 years or more have been given a single dose of 100 mg ( 2.5 ml ) repeated after 7 days. The adult dose is 400 mg ( 10 ml ) repeated after 7 days.

– In Taeniasis ( with some other parasites ) 400 mg ( 10 ml ) for 3 days.

– In Capillariasis 400 mg ( 10 ml ) daily in 2 divided doses for 10 days.

– In Hydatid disease for usual dose 15 mg / kg body weight twice daily for patients < 60 kg, or 400 mg twice daily for patients > 60 kg. This mostly given for 28 cycles with 2 week interval between cycles. The number of cycles are only 3 cycles.
