NASONIDE

Composition:

NASONIDE : Each spray, contains budesonide 32 micrograms.

Indications:

Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis. Treatment of nasal polyps.

Dosage:

Dosage should be individualised.

Rhinitis (Adults including the elderly) :

Recommended start dose: 256 micrograms per day.

Once daily dosing: Two applications of 64 micrograms or 4 applications of 32 micrograms into each nostril each morning.

Twice daily dosing: One application of 64 micrograms or Two applications of 32 micrograms into each nostril morning and evening.

If good effect is achieved, one application of 64 micrograms or Two applications of 32 micrograms into each nostril each morning.

Treatment of seasonal rhinitis should, if possible, start before exposure to the allergens. Treatment can be continued for up to 3 months.

The dose should be titrated to the lowest dose at which effective control of symptoms is achieved.

Nasal Polyps (Adults including the elderly) :

Recommended dose: 256 micrograms per day

Once daily dosing: Not applicable

Twice daily dosing: One application of 64 micrograms or Two applications of 32 micrograms    into each nostril morning and evening.

Rhinitis and Nasal Polyps :

The patient should be informed that the full effect of this product is not achieved until after a few days treatment. Patients should be reminded of the importance of taking this medicine regularly.

If symptoms are not controlled, or persist for longer than 2 weeks of treatment, medical advice must be sought.

Paediatric population: There are insufficient data .

Method of administration :

For nasal inhalation.

NASONIDE : glass bottle fitted with a plastic nasal spray pump contains 15 ml with concentration of  0.64% in carton box.
